About the Camarillo Art and Jazz Festival
-
The vision of the Camarillo Art and Jazz Festival, a non-profit organization, is to benefit local art and music education, and other cultural activities, through grants scholarships and programs, and to create a day-long cultural happening in Camarillo Old Town bringing art and music awareness and enjoyment to the community.
The Camarillo Art and Jazz Festival (CAJF) produces cultural events which engage the local community, attract visitors and tourists, and raise money for the Pleasant Valley School District, Cape and the University Charter School.
To fulfill that goal, the organization produces a one-day Festival each year. This year’s event will begin at 2 p.m. on the grounds of the old Pleasant Valley School on Ventura Blvd. in Camarillo Old Town. Live music will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a local jazz band Pentasonic, at 4 p.m. the Shoemaker Brothers, http://www.shoemakerbrothers.com will take the stage. At 6 p.m. returning by popular demand, the Blue Moon Swamp Band, www.bluemoonswampband.com will again perform their spectacular Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival. At 8:15 p.m., the festival’s headliner Bobby Caldwell (www.bobbycaldwell.com) takes the stage to electrify the evening with his rousing R&B, intimate smooth jazz stylings. Caldwell, an accomplished songwriter for such groups as Chicago, Boz Scaggs, Peter Cetera, Amy Grant, Neil Diamond and Al Jarreau, has performed at various venues worldwide. Included in the festival admission price will be a tour of the Studio Channel Islands Art Center located adjacent to the music venue.
This year’s festival will have a wine bar provided by several local wineries serving their favorite wines that are guaranteed to satisfy your tastes. In addition, there will be a beer garden pouring beer through out the day for your pleasure. Several food vendors will be serving during the festival. These additional activities are not included in the admission price.
The cost of the event is underwritten by our sponsors, so that the tickets we sell can provide the revenue needed to fulfill our mission to support local art and music education, and to provide this annual cultural event for the community. This year’s festival is guaranteed to be memorable and enjoyable for all. OUTSIDE FOOD OR ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITED IN THE VENUE.
