In 2003 Studio Channel Islands Art Center staged an Art and Jazz Festival as our annual fundraiser, featuring Hiroshima as the headline attraction. In the years following we continued that format with, among others, Mose Allison, and Maria Muldaur.

It soon became evident that the Festival was too ambitious an event to be staged by SCIART alone, and so in 2006 it was presented to the City of Camarillo and the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce to develop as a community-wide event, benefiting not only SCIART, but also supporting local tourism and the development of Old Town Camarillo. Headliners such as Dave Koz, Rick Braun, David Sanborn, and the Rippingtons have played for enthusiastic audiences. The proceeds from the Festival continued to be directed toward art and music education in the local schools.

Now in its 4 th year as a community event, the Festival has incorporated as a non-profit 501C3, and is produced by the Festival Board of Directors made up of community leaders. It has become not only a wonderful community event, drawing people from across the region into Old Town Camarillo for a day filled with art and music, and concluding with an exciting jazz concert, this year featuring nationally known entertainer Peabo Bryson, but it also continues to focus on KEEPING THE ARTS ALIVE for our young people by funding art and music opportunities for them.

This 4 th Annual Camarillo Art and Jazz Festival promises to be the best one yet!
